Over the years, Ocean Alliance has created several diverse education initiatives. These programs are designed to reach people of all ages and backgrounds, through a variety of different mediums.
These programs include:
- The Pacific Life WHALE Education Kit
- Class from the Sea
- Voyage of the Odyssey: Ocean Encounters
Ocean Alliance also strives to encourage anyone looking to help the state of the oceans. Make sure to visit our internships page while you're here!
If you would like to learn more about the past Voyage of the Odyssey, click here. You can also visit our affiliate website on PBS pbs.org/odyssey. The Voyage of the Odyssey website was produced by Ocean Alliance in the field, from onboard our research vessel, Odyssey. The website gave the general public a unique view of the fascination and beauty of whales and their marine environment. In addition, the educators we met around the world received a WHALE Education kit and other Ocean Alliance education materials.
The crew of the Odyssey visited classrooms, provided tours of the boat to both students and officials, and gave talks to educate the general public about the plight of whales and the dangers of global marine pollution . Their visits stirred up both interest and enthusiasm in many countries, and turned many local young people into conservationists..
